something nice, not too expensive, maybe close to the beach. I would like to be close to all of the baseball stadiums because I am looking to go down for spring training in March. Any suggestions would help. Thanks! In the Clearwater Beach area, what are some nice, standard hotels that won't cost me a fortune. I want?
name your price at priceline, they might help.

Do you think it's appropriate that hotel officials encourage 'free sex shows' in New York's Standard Hotel?
The plush Standard hotel in New York has become a tourist attraction as randy guests are performing sex acts in front of the floor-to-ceiling hotel windows.
Guests at the hotel have been spotted romping, drying off and even pleasuring themselves in full view of onlookers.
According to the New York Post, the hotel guests aren't the only ones getting in on the raunchy action.
';We don't discourage it. In actual fact, we encourage it,'; a friendly bellhop was quoted as saying.

What do you think? Do you think it's a bit of healthy exhibitionism or do you think it's taking blatant sexuality a little too far?Do you think it's appropriate that hotel officials encourage 'free sex shows' in New York's Standard Hotel?
It depends. It is a private business and as long as they follow proper safety procedures and keep minors out then why wouldn't it? I believe in freedom and capitalism and feel that businesses are operating and they can sink or swim on their own merits by the basis of their business plan and their practices. Obviously it is working and they have clientele that like the hotel.
Is it for me? NO
should it be allowed? YES, they should be allowed to do what they wish as they are a private business and they are operating within the law (that should be limited and encourage business growth and prosperity)
Bottom line: their guests don't care, their staff doesn't care, why would you care? Who forces anyone to go here? No one is forced, thats who.Do you think it's appropriate that hotel officials encourage 'free sex shows' in New York's Standard Hotel?
They have the right has consenting adults to romp around with each other or themselves. My only problem is the public should not be forced to watch it. So they could be a little bit discreet but they probably get off on having random people watch. I guess if you are in that area don't look up if you don't want to see it. I have to be honest I would definitely stop to look.
I think questions of morality are not appropriate for this forum.
Stick to the law. Anti-diversity is un-American. I have learned that I have enough of a challenge just controlling myself.
As long as it keep withing the city's and state's guidelines, it would be appropriate.
At least it would grab media attention and have a lot of people visit to catch a glimpse.
No since the intent is to destroy what a community is attempting to build. A couple of Private Investigators outside taking pictures would put an end to the exhibitionists quickly.
Appropriate? No.
Hilarious? Yes!
And, yes, it was all over the news- see link, below, for CBS News coverage of it...
Could you explain what ';pleasuring themselves'; means?
no
really???
i work near the High Line...
i'm gonna hafta hang out there more often!!!
It couldn't be as common as the article implies, since it would have been all over the news here - and not just the NY Post!
Those of us who live here know that the NY Post loves this kind of hysterical articles. Once you've lived here a while, you learn to take them with a grain of salt!
They take something that has happened once, or only a few times, and make it seem like a big problems, like it happens frequently.
Don't take this too seriously!

Whats the advantage of mixing TFA with return air in a plenum before FCU in a standard hotel room scenario?
normally treated fresh air is supplied to individual rooms thru ducts generally sized 100x100 and thrown above the vestibule anywhere besides FCU, basically directly into the room.the TFA then mixes with room air , returns to FCU along with the rest of air , and returns to FCU coil section, along with the return air. Is there a particular advantage , if instead of throwing the TFA directly into the air , the TFA duct is connected to a small plenum section made before FCU where return air coming from the room mixes with TFA, before passing thru the coil again ? perhaps lesser load on coils or FCU in longer process , or some sort of energy saving?Whats the advantage of mixing TFA with return air in a plenum before FCU in a standard hotel room scenario?
We need TFA in order to refresh the air in a space. As people breath they consume oxygen and make carbon dioxide. As the levels of 02 decrease and CO2 increase people in the space start to get more tired. So TFA is introduced into the space. Now if we shoot 300 cfm from the FCU and 50 cfm TFA seperatly than the FCU has only to process 300 cfm. If you put the TFA at the inlet of the FCU than the FCU must process 350 cfm which would take more power.
Typically when there is supply there is exhaust. So when 50 cfm comes in, somewhere 50 cfm is exhausted.
Bottom line you always have a 300 cfm FCU and not a 350 cfm FCU and you still have 50 cfm of TFA.

Biggest Standard Hotel Room in Vegas (With Sofa)?
I am going to Vegas, and we are going to have to get a room with two queens, and ideally a sofa, as we will have three people who will not be sleeping in the same beds.
Does anyone know what the biggest standard hotel room is in Vegas? I know Venetian/Palazzo are in the mid-700 sf, and they've got sofas, but they appear to be sold out the days I need.
Are there any other hotels with very large standard rooms, or rooms with sofas? Price isn't an issue.
Thanks!Biggest Standard Hotel Room in Vegas (With Sofa)?
The largest standard rooms are at the Platinum which is off-strip. The standard rooms start at 910 square feet which is almost 200 feet larger than the Palazzo and about double the standard size for Vegas which is roughly 500 square feet.
If you want to make sure your brother is a second-class citizen on your trip, ask for a roll-away while you and your father sleep in comfortable beds.Biggest Standard Hotel Room in Vegas (With Sofa)?
I was in a very similar situation months ago. The nicest and most affordable place we found was the Marriott Suites. The Suites were huge and include separate living area with a sofa bed, wet bar, and a mini refrigerator.
Much cheaper than anything else you will find on the strip.
http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/marriott_鈥?/a>
The only thing is that it's about a block from the strip but its located across the street from a monorail station and the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The MGM Grand Tower has the largest 'standard' of any in Vegas. Or so they say and it appears....Been Vegas a bit, but I haven't stayed EVERYWHERE :D
The West Wing rooms will not suite you as they only have one king bed
The Bungalow Suites seem to have what you are looking for as well. The rates @ MGM can't be beat @ moment and of course they are a top rated/class hotel.
First, most rooms do not have sofa. Two queens or a king. But you can ask for a rollaway at many. Check out www.lasvegasnow.com for possible info which properties have the type of room you desire.
Check the Wynn because they started the large ';standard'; room
try the ';RIO'; , all their rooms are suites and have sofas. not sure what the sq. footage is. if you do stay there be sure to go out on the deck of the ';VOODOO LOUNGE'; it's on the 51st? floor with an AWESOME view of the strip at night!
Off the strip but try the Orleans. Their rooms are oversized and relatively inexpensive compared with places on the strip. You may be able to afford several rooms.
why can't your brother sleep in the same bed as you or your dad? I've slept in the same bed as my brother on vacation.. its really not that weird?
Look for suites instead of rooms. But if price is not an issue, why not get two rooms?

Wynn was quite big and has a sofa but to me you best bet is a bungalow suite at MGM they are not real suites its one room with a TV cabinet between the seating area and the bed so although its a suite at MGM it would only br a standard room. at say Wynn or VenitianThis will cost less than the price of a room at Wynn or Ventitan etc and they are huge. http://clk.atdmt.com/MGM/go/kwbngmgm0010鈥?/a>
on thsi offer if you book by 7/10 you only pay $30 extra for teh Bungalow suite https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/booki鈥?/a>

The Standard Hotel L.A.....??
My friend and I are planning to travel to L.A. October 10-13. We will get there Friday morning and leave late Monday night. I really want to stay at the Standard. I hear it's really cool and it seems decently priced. Which is better, The Standard in Downtown L.A. or Hollywood?? They are the same price so I would rather stay at the better of the 2.
Also, is Hollywood close to downtown? Which area is better to stay in? I want to be near everything, but I don't NEED to be right on top of it.
And is Columbus Day weekend a bad time to go?? Will things be open? Columbus Day is huge in Boston (that's where we are from), but I don't know what it's like everywhere else. We haven't bought plane tickets yet so we can change the dates if this is not a good weekend to go.
Any other info for my trip is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!The Standard Hotel L.A.....??
The Downtown Standard is cool, but there is really nothing to do down there on the weekend - I mean it's like a ghost town on a Saturday - whereas the Standard in Hollywood is right on Sunset where you are within walking distance to a ton of great things, and it's vibrant day %26amp; night. I would hands-down pick the Hollywood location. It's also a lot closer to other places you might want to check out - BH, the Walk of Fame, Santa Monica, Venice. Sunset Blvd will take you to most of LA, and is a really pretty, interesting drive, and there are SO many cool stores and restaurants on it, too. The Downtown Standard is near the Central Library - which is beautiful, but it's a library (and it will be closed that weekend), the Disney Concert Hall, and that's about it. You will have to get on the freeway for everything else.
That weekend should be fine. Some of the museums and places like the post office may be closed, but everything else will be open. It does sometimes get hot then because of the Santa Ana winds, but it's still usually nice.
Have fun. : )The Standard Hotel L.A.....??
The Standard downtown is really cool but you'll be near WAY more if you stay in Hollywood. The STandard Hollywood is cool, hip %26amp; fun. Also it's on Sunset close to all things Hollywood. Also it's not far from the beach %26amp; universal citywalk (fun thing to go see).
There is not that much going on in Downtown late at night %26amp; it's not safe to walk around.
Neither Standards are worth the price of a day's stay. There is a far better choice and a more affordable one at that: The Best Western Hollywood Hills which houses any number of Hollywood memorabilia in the lobby:
http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/鈥?/a>
Just below the Best Western is the famous 101 Coffee Shop which serves the best American food. And the Hollywood %26amp; Highland complex and the Chinese Grauman's Theatre [for the footprints of the stars] is an 8 block walk away.
Good luck!
Good time to go, I'd go for the Downtown location any day, very chic.girl myspace

Anyone know a cheap but fairly high standard hotel in PARIS?
The area which Disney2K recommended is a good one. It's not in the center, so the rates are a bit cheaper but you can hop on the RER A and be in the city in 5 mins. I recommend the Hotel Central Courbevoie. Here's the site http://www.central-courbevoie-hotel.com/ but the online booking system doesn't work so use
http://hotelclub.net/DirectHotel.asp?Che鈥?/a>
or search from http://hotelclub.net (selecting La Defense West Paris as the location in Paris). It's family run and in a safe neighbourhood.Anyone know a cheap but fairly high standard hotel in PARIS?
any kyriad, formula 1 or ibis there are plenty in paris and most offer pretty decent ratesAnyone know a cheap but fairly high standard hotel in PARIS?
Honestly................?...............鈥?NO! sorry..........
I am not sure what you mean by ';high standard';, but I stayed at La Familia hotel in the Latin Quarter. I was sick the first night in Paris and had asked the night desk clerk for some crackers. The next morning they called to check on me and offered to bring breakfast up to my room! I think that is pretty good service.
hotel gare du nord.

check out orbitz.com
Not super high standard, but still cheap is the Kyriad Paris La Defense, only 51 euros a night and well located, good luck!
Phone Air France they can offer discounts and all hotels have been checked out by them. I've never been disappointed with their recommendations.
type in cheap hotels in Paris on your address bar and follow links
Try the chain hotels. Mercure have a good range in various locations and they have always been clean and decent quality. The Raddisson also do cheap deals from time to time.
I know paris pretty well, i live there....
I know one very good hotel: le sezz in the 16th district of Paris, close to the effeil tour and the Champ Elysees...rates : 250Eur minimum...so still a bit expensive but worthy....

Another name for a standard hotel room?
Regular or non-Deluxe.
But in some places the Deluxe room may be very affordable and standard by your standards.....
Ask questions and check rates, take a look at the room before you check in if you are doing this on the ground. This is really important. Sometimes they will sell you a room with people still in it and then you get stuck waiting in the ';lounge'; with your bags and your tired self.
All depends on where you are going.... right?Another name for a standard hotel room?
